AG Sessions Promises Strict Enforcement of Immigration Laws

Attorney General Jeff Sessions recently announced that the Department of Justice will strictly enforce immigration laws in the United States. In a speech to the National Sheriff’s Association, Sessions said that the Department of Justice will “take the lawful and necessary actions to end the lawlessness.”

Sessions said that the Department of Justice will prioritize the removal of criminal aliens, those who have committed serious crimes or pose a threat to public safety. He also said that the Department of Justice will ensure that employers comply with immigration laws, and will take action against those who hire illegal immigrants.

Sessions also said that the Department of Justice will work to end the “catch and release” policy, which allows illegal immigrants to be released from custody while their cases are pending.
